Synopsis

A new Ranger, Omega, has arrived from the future to prevent the Rangers from being defeated. However, his overconfidence may cut his stay in the past short.

Transcription

  • A recap showing the events of Part I is shown. The episode then starts in media res with Doggie and Kat watching the Rangers getting beat up.

Cruger: Kat, they need our help. Let's get in this!

Kat: All cadets to the safety zone. Activating Delta Command Megazord.

  • The alarm begins to blare before stock footage of the base transforming to Crawler mode and rolling out is shown. Back in Command, the lightball floats around Doggie, who “hmm”s curiously, before he pulls out his morpher.

Cruger: S.P.D., Emergency! Shadow Ranger!

  • He sits down at his console and presses the button.

Cruger: Delta Command Megazord.

  • Stock footage of Doggie's console sliding back into the cockpit, and then the Base transforming, is shown.

Cruger: Command bridge, online.

  • Delta Command Megazord, stand up. Delta Command Megazord, stand up. The Rangers all join Doggie inside the cockpit, and plug their morphers in place.

Jack: Rangers in position. Morphers locked.

Rangers: Delta Command Megazord, ready.

  • The cockpit lights up, and the Megazord is ready for combat against giant Shorty.

Shorty: You may be bigger, but you're still not better!

  • He hops back and forth like a madman, far too fast for the big, clunky Megazord to turn and fire at. Inside, the Rangers groan as they are shaken around.

Sky: Our base can't keep up with him!

  • Shorty hops down, then fires a green energy blast from his mouth.

Z: He's too fast!

Jack: We're in big trouble! We need help!

Voice: That's what I'm here for.

Jack: Who said that?

Voice: Stand back, Rangers. I'll take it from here.

  • Shots show a new Zord driving into the action! It resembles a motorcycle somewhat. It is covered with blaring alarms.

Jack: Stand back? Who are you?!

Shorty: What's that?

Cruger: Look out!

  • The new Zord ramps off the back of Delta Command. The Rangers seem impressed.

Bridge: Whoa.

Jack: No way!

Sky: Check it out.

  • Back down on the ground, Morgana and Devastation look concerned.

Devastation: Impossible.

  • The new Zord continues to speed forward. It pops a wheelie, then begins to transform- its exhaust pipes turn into arms, its front rotating and splitting into two legs, and its “handlebars” coming up to protect the huge wheel on its chest. Its visor raises, then it poses. It simply stands still, the camera rotating to give us a good look at it. The voice heard before speaks.

Voice: S.P.D. You're under arrest.

Cruger: It's from S.P.D.

Jack: But who's driving it?

Shorty: Two against one. I still like my odds.

  • He tries his leaping attack again. However, his blows to the new Zord's chest are ineffectual, and Shorty falls to the concrete. It then extends two sword blades from its arms.

Shorty: Nice try!

  • The Zord fights off Shorty, sending him spinning and slamming down to the ground again. The new Zord poses, and the Delta Command Megazord takes a few steps forward.

Jack: He's good.

  • The bike Zord then crosses its blades, and the visor on its helmet goes down. Its legs then push together, the wheels on its chest and legs revving, before it spreads its arms and dives forward, speeding along the ground.

Shorty: Come on! Uh-oh!

  • The Zord ramps up, flies through the air, then begins to spin. The slashing blades cut Shorty up, and the Megazord skids to a stop, stands erect with its visor flipping back up, and poses.

Shorty: Oh no!

  • He yells in dismay, sparking and exploding all over his body. He then falls over and explodes completely, groaning.

Morgana: (on the ground) Shorty! They got your brother!

Devastation: (clenching his fist) It's time to show them what real power is!

  • The new Zord's pilot then leaps out of its cockpit- as one might expect, it's a new, morphed Ranger! The other Rangers all leap to the ground and group together to find out who saved them.

Jack: Look, there he is!

  • The new Ranger is in a white and blue suit. He has a morpher on his left wrist. As he stands, we can see more details of his suit- it is adorned with “VI”, the Roman numeral for six. The cuffs on his gloves and boots, his belt and handcuffs, his badges, and the trimmings on his helmet are all gold instead of silver like on the normal Rangers. He also has a visible communication headset over his mouthpiece.

Jack: Whoa… incredible.

Morgana: First five Rangers, then six, and now seven?

Ranger: It's only gonna take one Ranger to stop you. And that'd be me.

  • He poses, and the number on his suit flashes, the lights on the side of his helmet also flashing. He then poses against a backdrop of the rising sun.

Ranger: S.P.D. Omega Ranger!

  • Several shots are then shown, closeups of his shiny gold badges and uniform details.

Omega: And I've traveled a long way… just for you!

Jack: I like his style!

Devastation: OH REALLY? Let's get this party started!

Omega: Thought you'd never ask.

  • Devastation raises his gun and peppers Omega with laser fire, and he is soon shrouded in a cloud of smoke.

Bridge & Z: No!

Sky: Oh, no!

Jack: Aww, man!

  • Morgana cackles with delight, and Devastation chuckles as he lowers his weapon. However, Omega, apparently unhurt, steps forward through the smoke, his left fist clenched and held in front of him.

Z: He's okay!

  • Omega then drops a handful of red… glowy things to the ground with some clanging noises.

Devastation: … But how?

Omega: Pay attention, and I'll show you.

  • Flashback to a few moments before, except with much more detail this time. Omega raises the throttle on his morpher and revs it.

Omega: (narrating) By transforming energy waves, I'm slowing down time…

  • Wires on the inside of his glove glow with blue energy. He then clenches his fist, lowers the throttle, and begins punching, slowed down so that we may see it, but still incredibly fast. He grabs the glowing red ball things from midair. Back to the present.

Omega: … so catching your laser pellets was… easy.

Jack: Whoa.

Sky: Amazing!

Bridge: Glad he's on our side!

Morgana: … You don't scare us!

Omega: My apologies. Maybe this will. (he revs his morpher again) Omega Morpher, blast mode!

  • He presses his hand to the ground, and an energy charge flies through the ground. Morgana and Devastation are both knocked back among explosions and a shower of sparks.

Syd: Yeah!

Omega: And to think, I'm not even warmed up yet.

Morgana: We'll be back, Mystery Ranger. (they retreat)

Omega: Cowards. (he sighs, and the others run up)

Syd: Unbelievable!

Z: That was crazy!

Sky: (angrily) Who are you?

Omega: I am… Omega Ranger.

Jack: Power down! (they do so) Yeah… I think we got that part. (Omega laughs) I'm Jack. (as he introduces the others, they all wave and smile, except Sky, who looks suspicious) This is Sky… Bridge… Z and Syd. Nice to see you.

Omega: This isn't the first time we've met. And it won't be the last.

  • He turns his back to them… then transforms into the little sparkleball. Oh, so that's what that is. The others watch, puzzled, as he flies away and… somehow vanishes into the clouds. Scene change to the Terror, where a furious Gruumm is confronting Morgana and Devastation.

Gruumm: Who is this Ranger that dares to interfere with MY victory?

Morgana: I never saw him before. He must be the newest model.

Gruumm: And you… (sarcastically) The mighty Devastation. Running away like a coward! PITIFUL!

Devastation: I run from no one! Omega Ranger will PAY for destroying my brother and humiliating me!

Gruumm: Then I suggest… you get back there… and do it!

  • Scene change to Delta Command. The Rangers are all standing in a line before Doggie.

Kat: I've made inquiries into all S.P.D. bases. No reports of an Omega Ranger.

Cruger: There was a reference to Omega Ranger on the transmission.

Syd: He was here. We saw him.

Jack: And what did he mean by “this isn't the first time we've met, or the last?”

Bridge: Yeah. And what's with being here one minute, and then being, like, this teeny-tiny little sparkle the next?

Boom: (at a console) Did you just say… sparkle?

Bridge: Maybe more like a… twinkle?

Boom: (presses a few buttons) Well… like this?

  • Footage from pt. I, Samurai, and Dismissed is played on his console's monitor, all showing the sparkleball.

Bridge: Yeah, that's it! (Boom nods)

Sky: So he's been here since the samurai came through the time portal.

Omega: Well… actually, I came through the temporal portal with him. (he turns into his Ranger form and holds up a holographic S.P.D. identification card) My I.D. Omega Ranger, 11C-41B. You look surprised.

Cruger: Yes. I have a lot of questions.

Omega: (salutes) Sir, it will be an honor to brief you.

Bridge: (in undertone to Jack) I wonder how long it takes him to write his name on his underwear? (Jack snickers)

Omega: I was able to stop this attack, but you're not out of danger yet. (Sky glares)

Syd: Okay. This is all very interesting, but what's with that glowy, sparkly thing?

  • Bridge takes off a glove and tries to read Omega's aura, but apparently sees something very weird.

Bridge: He's not human. I'm getting a huge energy reading.

Omega: (chuckles) Oh, I'm human. Passing through the time portal has crystallized my being into light energy.

Jack: If you're human, tell us where you came from.

Omega: The future!

  • The others all exchanged shocked looks as we fade to commercial.

  • Fade back in on the same scene, Omega conversing with the Rangers.

Kat: So… when you heard that the Rangers had lost their battle against Morgana, you came from the future to try and change it?

Omega: Exactly. S.P.D. code dictates that a Ranger will not stand by when another Ranger is in trouble. That's why I came- to save you.

Cruger: And for that, we all owe you a debt of gratitude.

Kat: Your vehicle and Zord will be safe in our bay while you're here.

Jack: And with you and your gear on our team, when Morgana and her goons attack, we can get rid of them for good.

Omega: You don't get it. It's my duty to defeat Morgana and Devastation. Your outdated technology will only get in my way. You won't be needed.

Sky: (indignantly) Hey, wait a minute. We weren't exactly helpless out there.

Omega: It didn't look that way to me.

Z: Listen, sparky. Our gear's state-of-the-art. The best in the world.

Omega: For its time, yes. But your weapons and vehicles can't compare to those of the future.

Z: Maybe not, but it takes a lot more than that to win a battle.

Jack: It takes heart and guts to keep fighting, even when you think you don't have a chance.

Omega: That sounds good, but it's not very realistic. (the alarm then goes off)

Cruger: Report.

Kat: Morgana and Devastation are back.

Omega: (as the Rangers begin to dash forward) No. I said I'll handle it. On your orders, sir.

Cruger: Rangers?

Sky: I say let him go. If he thinks he can do it himself, perfect.

Jack: For once, we agree.

Z: Totally.

Bridge: Yeah. Go for it.

Cruger: Then go, Omega Ranger, and good luck.

Omega: Thank you, sir!

  • He runs off, and there's a shot of Jack looking angry before we cut to the parking garage. Omega is mounting a unicycle-like vehicle.

Omega: Uniforce Cycle, power up. Hit it!

  • He revs the handlebars, then speeds out of the underground parking garage, lights flashing.

Omega: Time to show them what I'm made of.

  • He drives toward the city, part of which is burning. Cut to an unknown location, where Morgana and Devastation have appeared.

Morgana: I hate being an adult! I want this Ranger destroyed now!

Devastation: Don't worry! You will get your childhood, and I will get my revenge.

  • They look up as the Uniforce Cycle flies over their heads and lands, and Omega skids to a stop, facing them, getting off.

Omega: Looking for me? (raises fist) I guess you didn't learn the first time. (Devastation scoffs) Force… from the future! (helmet flashes, poses etc.) S.P.D. Omega!

Morgana: Let's make this quick and easy. Krybots!

  • She tosses a generator, and a dozen or so said 'bots appear.

Omega: This should be fun. Come on, give it your best shot.

  • And the fight is on. Omega is a pretty decent fighter, holding them off with a lot of kicks.

Omega: (cockily) Krybots? These rusty old things? At least give me a challenge.

  • The 'bots draw their sword weapons and charge, but Omega easily flips around and dodges all of them. He uses punches, a handstand kick, more flips, etc. to dispatch them. Three Blueheads then appear and fire their lasers at him, but Omega rolls away, unharmed. They fire again, missing him but knocking over a tower of some sort. Omega turns around, gasps, and revs his morpher.

Omega: Muscle Mode!

  • His fist glows green, and he stops the falling tower with it, heaving it at the Blueheads, who are all crushed, the tower exploding in a shower of concrete and rubble.

Omega: And this time, stay down.

  • He is then surprised when Morgana, now helmeted, leaps at him in a flying kick. He is knocked back through a concrete wall.

Morgana: (laughing) Silly boy.

  • Omega then powers forward through the rubble and… begins to break dance. No, seriously.

Devastation: Huh?

Morgana: What?

  • Omega dances up into a squatting position.

Devastation: Show-off.

Morgana: I'll show him!

  • She charges at him with her bladed weapons at the ready. Omega does some more break-dance moves to block her blows, before kicking her in the chest and sending her rolling. He repels a brief attack from Devastation before taking on Morgana again. He then revs his morpher.

Omega: Omega Ranger, hyper mode, engage!

  • He delivers a flurry of punches, as we saw before, causing Morgana to fall back again, sparking and smoking.

Omega: (revving again) Blast mode, power up!

  • He slams his hand to the ground and sends a shock wave ripping through them, just as before, and they fall to their backs.

Omega: Had enough?

Morgana: Not nearly!

  • He blocks or dodges all of her blows, then manages to hold Omega still long enough for Devastation to launch a new attack. A strange, glowing yellow circle appears under Omega and Morgana, and they are bathed with yellow energy.

Devastation: Devastation!

Omega: What? Whoa…

Morgana: What are you doing?!

Devastation: Fury circle!

Morgana: No!

  • The “fury circle” begins to glow brighter, and Omega and Morgana are both slammed with a brutal lightning attack. Cut back to the base, where the Rangers are all watching this fight on a monitor, unimpressed. Sky is even rolling his eyes, shaking his head.

Syd: He's really having a tough time.

Jack: Well, that's what you get for being so stubborn.

Kat: A trait many Rangers seem to share.

Z: Hey, he didn't want our help.

Bridge: He called us old and busted.

Cruger: All true. But I seem to recall something about an S.P.D. code.

  • The camera zooms in briefly on Sky, who's looking very distinctly uncomfortable now. Back at the battle, Omega seems OK, but Morgana's in bad shape.

Morgana: Oh… that wasn't the plan…

Omega: So I see!

  • He then gasps and turns as Devastation leaps at him, wielding his sword. He lands two blows, the second of which sends Omega to his knees.

Devastation: You… are finished.

Omega: Bring it!

Jack: No!

  • Jack tackles Omega out of the way just as Devastation is about to use a finishing blow. The two roll back as the rest of the Rangers flip into action, surrounding them.

Omega: What are you doing?

Jack: We're S.P.D.

Sky: We have a code. Haven't you heard?

Syd: “A Ranger will not stand by…”

Z: ”…when another Ranger is in trouble.”

Omega: But you can't beat this guy.

Bridge: Sorry, but a code is a code.

Omega: Wait!

Jack: Come on, Rangers.

Others: Right!

  • They all take fighting poses and run forward at Devastation, his attacks with energy blasts from his sword missing them. Sky and Bridge deliver a double kick, then land and stand up straight. The girls vault off their shoulders, attacking with their batons. Jack also leaps into the attack, trying to pistol-whip Devastation.

Omega: Jack, look out!

  • Devastation sends Jack rolling. The others come to his aid, using their batons, but are also repulsed, and regroup.

Devastation: See you later.

  • He fires an energy blast at them, and they are all sent to the ground, groaning in pain. Devastation cackles.

Omega: This… wasn't… supposed to happen…

  • He grabs his chest and stares into the camera as we fade into the commercial break.

  • Fade in on the same scene we left, all of the Rangers in pain after Devastation's assault.

Omega: You guys… stand down… it's me he's after!

Jack: That may be true, but he's going to have to get through us first!

Devastation: Foolish humans! Don't you know the power at my fingertips?

  • Another yellow fury circle appears underneath the main 5 Rangers.

Bridge: Huh? What's happening?

Syd: I don't know.

Omega: Rangers! Get out of there!

Devastation: Fury circle!

  • Lightning strikes all around the Rangers, setting off explosions and making them yell with pain.

Omega: No!

Jack: Hang on, guys!

Bridge: It's draining… my energy!

Z: We've got to keep fighting!

Omega: They were right. It's heart and courage that are the strongest weapons! Whoa!

  • Sky and Bridge cross their arms and begin to struggle against the attack, grunting.

Omega: You can do it, Rangers! I believe in you!

  • Z and Syd do the same, as does Jack.

Jack: Do it now!

  • With a karate yell from the Rangers, the fury circle breaks apart.

Devastation: No!

Rangers: Oh yeah!

  • Devastation snarls, and the Rangers run forward for another attack, leaping into the air and delivering a kick all at once.

Omega: Alright! (clasps Jack's hand) Wow! That was amazing!

Jack: Never a doubt.

Omega: Never.

Devastation: You will pay dearly for that!

Jack: Take it from here?

Omega: (salutes) Yes, sir! (he turns to face the monster) Devastation! You're accused of wanton destruction and disrupting the peace. Judgment mode! (he raises his morpher's throttle and presses a button)

Devastation: No fair! What about Morgana?

Omega: (as the Red X of Doom appears on the face of his morpher) Guilty. (rev rev) Light beam mode! Ready!

Devastation: But no!

  • Omega's left fist glows bright yellow. He then leaps high into the air.

Omega: Fire!

  • He comes back down and slams his fist into Devastation, who groans as his body pops and sparks.

Omega: Yeah!

  • Omega poses victoriously, and Devastation explodes as the other Rangers cheer. Suddenly, a purple fury circle engulfs Devastation's remains, and revives him.

Devastation: I'm back.

  • The Rangers yell in dismay as a robot, the same one Morgana used last episode, suddenly rises from the ground.

Omega: Look out!

Sky: No way.

  • The robot jets forward, over the Rangers' heads, and rockets off to attack the city.

Jack: Kat, we need the Runners!

  • Stock footage of the Runners leaving the base is shown. The Rangers appear in their cockpits in the usual split-screen shot.

Jack: OK, team, game's on!

Omega: (on the ground) I'll take the Omegamax Cycle!

Kat: (back at the base) On the way.

  • The Omegamax Cycle also drives itself out of the base to the scene.

Jack: Let's get 'em.

  • The Delta Squad Megazord, which was never seen being formed, runs toward Devastation's robot. Omega's Zord, lights blaring, drives up alongside it.

Jack: Hey!

Omega: Meet you there.

Jack: I don't think so.

  • The Megazord grabs onto the Cycle's handlebars and hops on, managing to be a perfect fit.

Omega: Hey, no free rides!

Jack: Be quiet and drive.

  • The Megazord revs the handles on its new hawg, bravely steering it toward Devastation's robot.

Devastation: They won't give up!

Z: S.P.D.! Pull over! … Why don't they ever listen?!

  • The robot knocks over a few buildings and skids to a stop.

Jack: Let me try!

  • The cycle speeds toward the robot, which is visible through a hole in the wreckage.

Omega: Punch it.

  • The robot fires laser blasts on it, and the Megazord makes its bike pop a wheelie, soaring forward as explosions go off around it. It then ramps through the hole and skids to a stop, kicking up a shower of dirt.

Jack: Let's kick it up a gear.

  • The Cycle drives up in front of Devastation's robot, skidding to a stop, and the Megazord fires its gun. The enemy 'bot is knocked backward in a shower of sparks, and the Cycle spins on its front wheel, then lands and drives forward.

Devastation: You'll regret that!

  • His robot stands and fires another blue lightning blast. However, none of his shots connect.

Devastation: Boosters!

  • He rockets forward toward the Megazord with said boosters. Jack's monitor shows energy flowing from the Cycle into the Megazord.

Jack: We're at full charge.

Rangers: Lasers, fire now!

  • The Megazord gets into a firefight with the robot. The two opponents pass each other and clash. Devastation's robot begins to spark, and the Megazord brakes to a stop.

Rangers: (give the thumbs-down) You're going down!

  • And Devastation is gone, in a huge fireball.

Omega: Thanks, you guys. I couldn't have done it without you. Now I understand what teamwork is all about.

Jack: (unbuckling) Ach. Finally, he gives us some props. Now let's go contain this fool! (thumbs-up)

Omega: Hey! Hold on, you couldn't have done it without me, either.

Jack: Awww, man!

  • He stands up and smacks his head on the ceiling. His monitor shows Omega laughing as we fade to commercial.

  • Fade back in on the terror. Morgana is swinging in a hammock, moping and cuddling Cindy Sunshine. Gruumm enters.

Gruumm: Get up, Morgana! No rest for the wicked.

Morgana: But I gave all my energy to Devastation!

Gruumm: You will recover, and when you do, there is much work to be done. The Omega Ranger must have a weakness. I want you to find it. (he stalks off)

Morgana: (pouting) Oh, I hate that Omega Ranger!

  • Cut back to the Delta Base. Boom skids in, holding his radio and yelling. The Rangers and Kat are all at consoles, Doggie is at his desk, and Omega is beside him.

Jack: Hey, what's up?

Boom: Everyone. Now. Listen.

Kat: What now, Boom?

Boom: You guys have to hear this. It's a transmission from July 11, 2135.

  • He pushes a switch, and pleasant music begins to play. Boom smiles and rocks his body back and forth to the beat. The girls chuckle.

Boom: Well, good news, the end-of-the-world message is gone. The bad news, they still have elevator music in the future!

Cruger: Then it's true. History has changed. (to Omega) We survived because of you.

Omega: (shakes Doggie's paw) Because of all of us.

Jack: Hey! He's learning!

Kat: Unfortunately, you still have no way to get back to your own time. I'll try to locate another time portal for you.

Omega: Thanks.

Syd: Meanwhile, there's plenty of room here.

Bridge: Yeah, you can stay in our quarters.

Omega: (changes back into a sparkleball) I don't take up much space.

Sky: Okay, that's gonna take some getting used to. Come on, I'll show you around.

Omega: … Well, actually, I know this place. I used to live here a long time ago.

Z: Really?

Omega: Yeah. As a little boy. Before I made the transformation to light being, you guys knew me by my human name- Sam.

Others: (shocked) SAM?!

  • Flashback to Sam pt. II, when young Sam receives his bike from the Rangers.

Sam: (in flashback) I'm gonna be like you! (salutes) I'm gonna be a Power Ranger!

  • Back in the present day, sparkleball Sam floats in front of Cruger.

Sam: I told you some day I'd be a Power Ranger! See you around, guys!

  • He floats off, and the others give chase. Cruger laughs and claps his paws, and the episode ends.

Trivia

  • Derek Judge is credited with providing the Blueheads' voices, but none of the ones appearing in this episode spoke or indeed made any noise at all.
  • This episode marks the debut of Sam the Omega Ranger, and the addition of Brett Stewart to the cast; Stewart will provide his voice throughout the rest of the series. Previously, he had a small role in All About Beevil, an episode of Ninja Storm; Stewart was listed as playing “Shady Guy” in the credits, but a business card gave the character's name as Dwayne Wheeler.
  • There is a subtle hint of Omega's true identity early on in the episode, when he tells the Rangers that it isn't the first time they've met- Sam's special background music from Sam pts. I & II can be heard in the background.
  • Sam's story is very different from that of his Japanese counterpart, Tekkan “Tetsu” Aira. Tetsu was able to transform and demorph like normal the whole time he was on the show, and was from their same timeline as well. He was a specially-trained elite officer sent from S.P.D.'s Tokkyou division to help the Dekaranger get rid of Bon-Goblin and Blitz (Shorty and Devastation), ordering the others to stay out of his way and dismissing their proclamations that justice would win, no matter what, with his trademark catchphrase “nonsense!”. However, he decided to stay after seeing the others' passion for justice ultimately giving them the strength to win the day, realizing that although he was advanced in fighting skill level, he had a lot to learn. He respectfully called the Rangers his “sempai” (a Japanese term referring to someone of a higher rank than oneself, often translated as “senior”). His gold badge and the gold details on his uniform, as well as his morpher and fighting style, were all symbols of his rank- Tokkyou officers in fact learned a special form of martial arts to help them better handle their morphers, known as “BraceThrottles” in Japan.
  • The reason Omega poses in front of a backdrop of the rising sun was because in Japan, he was known as DekaBreak, the “detective of the daybreak”.
  • Because of the lightball story and the fact that from now on he will more or less be treated like a weapon instead of a fellow Ranger, Sam is one of the most universally-disliked characters on the show. Executive Producer Bruce Kalish has since admitted that the lightball plot was “his biggest failing” with S.P.D. and regrets not showing Sam as a human first, so that the audience could identify with him better.
  • It is rumored that the whole reason Sam came was made into the lightball is because there was not enough money left in the budget to hire another actor to portray him out-of-suit. Having stuntpeople wear the Omega costume and hiring a voice actor for him instead was much cheaper.
  • Executive Producer Greg Aronowitz recounted that Sam's original story actually did have him coming from a future where B-Squad had been killed in this episode, explaining how Sam didn't know of later events like A-Squad's betrayal- they and Gruumm were long gone once the Rangers were killed, moving on to greener pastures. However, this was never made explicit in this episode- Sam only stated that this is the type of future he is trying to prevent. However, some fans tend to dismiss any information not explicitly stated in the series as being non-canon. This led to the alternate theory that Sam made his story up, and simply grew up and trained normally, then was sent back in time to complete a stable time loop because S.P.D. knew he would be expected to show up. However, this theory has become less and less popular since the series ended, and also doesn't make much sense due to the distress message in part I of this episode making it explicit that Earth really had fallen in his time.
  • As in Wired pt. II, bad editing during the base's transformation shows us a glimpse of Dekaranger's conference room.
  • Shorty was never mentioned as having been confined, making it possible that he is one of the few monsters to simply be blown up, rather than jailed.
  • Factual error: It is impossible for lasers to make “pellets”, therefore Omega shouldn't have been able to capture Devastation's blast. (In the original, of course, Tetsu slowed down time to catch bullets in his hand to show off his powers. However, as noted elsewhere in transcripts and on this Wiki, all evidence of bullets was digitally painted out of the Japanese footage whenever they were used.)
  • Factual Error: Lasers also do not create smoke, much less enough to totally shroud a person.
  • Factual Error: When Boom reveals that the message from the future is no longer there, Doggie says history has changed- however, they changed the future, not the past.
  • Continuity error: The scenery around the Rangers, Morgana and Devastation changes several times when Omega first appears, most notably after Morgana and Devastation flee together. This is because American footage was spliced into Japanese footage to erase traces of Morgana's Japanese counterpart, Succubus, when her face was visible and not covered up by explosions and the like.
  • Continuity error/oddity: Sky posits that Omega had been there “since the samurai came through the time portal”. Omega says no… then states that he “came through the temporal portal with [Katana]”. Isn't that what Sky said, but phrased slightly differently?
  • Continuity error: When Doggie is saying “We all owe you a debt of gratitude” and the camera cuts to Jack's face, Doggie's mouth stops moving.
  • Continuity error: Morgana vanishes soon after Devastation uses his Fury Circle on her and was never seen running or being transported away. This is because in Japan, Blitz actually killed her counterpart Succubus, to drain her energy so that he could revive himself.
  • Oddity: Why does Sam say the others knew him by his human name? Is he implying that he does not think of himself as a human being anymore?
  • Oddity: In part I of this episode, it was said in the message from the future that Gruumm had conquered Earth except for a few pockets of freedom fighters. If this is true, and since according to several previous episodes Earth is the last place in the galaxy that Gruumm hasn't conquered, how did Sam manage to acquire and keep Ranger powers, much less his own patrol vehicle and Zord? (Note: This may be explained by “Earth being the last place he hasn't taken over” being an exaggeration on the Rangers' part. If this is true, then Sam could have escaped/been evacuated when the Rangers of his time were defeated, then trained off-planet and come back when he was an adult to try and free his home.)
