Koragg: On your feet. Darkness has come.
Madison: I got a bad feeling about this.
Udonna: I do not know you, Warrior. But if its a battle you want, I am ready to fight.
Xander: Hold on, lemme try and reason with him.
Xander: Hi; the name's Xander.
Koragg: I am Koragg, the Knight Wolf.
Koragg: Uthe Mejor Catastros! Ride up from your depth!
Xander: So much for reasoning!
Koragg: Sumbol Unithos Equestras! Power of the centaur!
Chip: Centaur. A real centaur! I want one!
Koragg: Haha. You are now just pebbles under my hooves.
Udonna: Get back! You are not ready to fight his kind. I am.
Xander: There's no problem here. He's all yours.
Udonna: Magical Source, Mystic Force!
Udonna: Galwit Mysto Prifior!
Koragg: I'm ready.
Udonna: Energy of Light, FIRE!
Koragg: Darkness destroys light.
Udonna: Have I seen you before, Wizard? You are too familiar.
Koragg: And you too, Witch. But that will not stop me from destroying you.
Udonna: What?
Koragg: Behold the Eye of the Master!
Koragg: Charge!
Koragg jumps on the fallen Udonna, and slashes her with his sword. Udonna flails in a show of sparks, then disappears. Her staff lands in the ground, and it starts snowing.
Koragg: You are defeated.
Madison: Udonna!
Clare: It's snowing!
Nick: That's weird… not a cloud in the sky…
Clare: Oh no! Udonna! Bad, bad!
Chip: Udonna!
Madison: Are you okay?
Koragg: I will spare all of you, so that you witness first-hand the terror and destruction that unfolds on your land. Remember this day; you will wish it was your last. Uthe Sastos!
Koragg: Our first victory. Hail the Master! Hail!
Morticon: Koragg, you are a great warrior, I give you that. But you have much to learn as a sorceror. You will give me the Snow Staff, so I can learn to control its power…
Morticon climbs down from his throne, approaching Koragg. He holds out his hand, and dark energy begins to flow from it, engulfing Koragg's head. Koragg stands up, warding off the magic with a yell.
Koragg: Never! Do you want to test my magic, Morticon? The staff is mine. We may share the goal of destroying the surface world, but that is where our alliance stops. If you are such a great warrior, why can't you leave this pit?
Morticon: How dare you! You know as well as I, that my power is so great, you cannot conjure a spell strong enough to release me. But when you do find a way, and I get out, no one is safe, NO ONE!
—-
Udonna: Without my Snow Staff, I cannot fight anymore. But I can still train you. I can teach you the ways of magic. Clare!
Clare: Coming!
Udonna: Oh, child… Morfay Mammun!
Clare: Why didn't you do that before? Do you know how warm it was in all that wool?
Udonna: If I do everything for you, then how will you ever learn?
Udonna: This time, go nowhere without them.
Xander: Uh-huh. We already learned that lesson. But, to tell you the truth, walking around town, carrying a wand–
Xander: –well, it might be good for Chip, but…
Xander gestures, an embarrassed look on his face, and Vida laughs at his antics. Udonna looks back at Clare, who nods, amused.
Udonna: Very well. Utum Zore!
Udonna: I hope you find these more to your generation's liking.
Vida: Cell phones. Very cool.
Udonna: They are your Mystic Morphers. They are activated by spellcodes that you will come to learn along the journey. Now go back to the city, live your normal lives, and wait until you are needed. Remember, there is evil everywhere, and you would be best served speaking to no one of what has happened.
Clare: I can show them the way out of the woods!
Udonna: No, they must find their own way. Just remember: the trees are your passage.
Scene-change to the four teens standing outside, staring, perplexed, at skinny, newgrowth trees.
Chip: How could a tree be our… passage…?
Chip: Whoa, guys, its so cool! Just touch the tree, and–BAM–you're flying through roots, branches, stems, leaves, and bark… just think of the tree in front of the record shop. Really. It works.
Xander: Nononono. There is no way that this could–
Xander touches the tree, and is sucked in in a flash of light. He's tossed out in front of the record shop, a totally unbelieving expression on his face. He looks back and forth in confusion. Toby walks out of the shop, looking at a piece of paper. He eyes Xander, who is obliviously trying to figure out what the hell is going on.
Xander: Okay, it can!
Toby: Hey, you guys just… from the tree…
Toby: Nevermind.
Vida: You feeling okay?
Toby: Uh, I gotta check this out.
Toby leans over to look at the tree, then points at it. He walks into it, sure that something will happen. Instead, he just bumps his head. Some time later, outside the Rock Porium…
Madison: Hey there.
Nick: Hey.
Madison: We sure could have used your help, back there.
Nick: I don't think there was anything I could have done.
Madison: So, while we're out in the world fighting evil, what're you gonna do?
Nick: Well first, I'm gonna fix my bike, then I'll head to my grandparents' and see if I can live there, instead of with my sister in Briarwood.
Madison: No parents?
Nick: Ohhh… you are nosy! Yes, I have parents. They're working overseas for a few years. I was living with my cousins for a while, then my uncle, now my sister.
Madison: Must be hard, leaving friends all the time.
Nick: I usually don't stay around long enough to have friends.
Madison: You know, you could… I mean, you could stay somewhere longer, y'know, like… here, maybe.
Nick: I'd love to talk to you all day, but I've still got a lot of work to do on my bike, and–
Madison: Oh yeah, I'm sorry. I just…I was–I was trying…um… I'm gonna leave you to it.
Madison turns away, hurt, embarrassed, and trying to cover it up with good manners. Nick has done a good job at shutting her down and out. He feels bad.
Nick: Hey, look. I–I really appreciate what you're trying to do–trying to say–but I guess I'm just not cut out for this magic stuff like you guys. But, good luck.
Madison: Yeah, you too.
She points awkwardly at his bike, then turns around again and walks away. Nick watches her go, a sad look on his face. The scene shifts to the viewing globe–I mean, orb–which has been showing Udonna and Clare this scene.
Udonna: Forget him, Clare. It is not to be.
Clare: Yea, I guess so. I just don't know why the Xenotome showed five warriors, not four. Maybe I'm the fifth warrior!
Clare raises her broom, swinging it around like a sword. She nearly hits Udonna, who ducks, and then grabs the broom on the return swing. They begin walking up the stairs towards the Xenotome.
Udonna: Probably not.
Clare: Right. We move on.
Udonna: Sweep, please.
Clare: But, its a good thing you didn't move on when I started here. Any other sorceress would have tossed me to the trolls when I cracked the crystal ball, or when I dried up the lake, or when I–
Udonna: Yes, there was a long list of things you needed to learn. Not to mention turning yourself into a sheep.
Udonna: You, child. You are not someone I would ever give up on.
Clare: And I appreciate that… but, just for reference, so when I become a powerful sorceress I'll know… why is it that we're giving up on Nick?
Udonna looks at Clare, a look of realization upon her face. Scene-change to the Underworld, where things are dark, as usual.
Koragg: Its almost time.
Necrolai: He is not to be trusted.
Morticon: And you are? Koragg! I want you and your Hidiacs to do something for me.
Udonna: It will still not run.
Nick: You may know about magic, but you know nothing about bikes. I just fixed it.
Udonna stands watching, in plain view, as Nick tries to start his bike. The starter sputters, but nothing catches.
Nick: It should have started right up… Look, if you messed with my bike, trying to get me to stay, you can just–
Nick: What're you looking at?
Udonna: Only you can see me.
Nick: Just my luck. As I was saying: you can undo whatever you did to my bike.
Udonna: I have done nothing to your bike! Nick, there's a reason why you're here, at this place, at this time. Don't run away from it.
Nick: Look… I know you think you need me. But you don't. You saw me back there. I can't do the magic thing. I'm not your guy.
Udonna: Then why did you speak up first to help the old man who'd lost his brother?
Nick: How'd you know about that?
Nick: No way.
Udonna: It let me know that you were the one to lead the Rangers.
Vida: Come on!
Nick: Where are they going?
Udonna: There's trouble in the woods. They're gonna help. Nick, they need you.
Nick: I'm not a leader. Apparently, I can't even fix my bike.
Udonna: It's fixed. Isn't it about time you owned up to who you really are?
Nick: Thanks for the help with the bike. But I gotta–
Nick:–go.
Nick puts on his helmet, and pulls off onto the street, driving away. Scene change to the four teens running out of a tree in the forest, dressed in color-coded leather and capes.
Madison: Whoa! Check out the uniforms!
Chip: And cloaks!
Chip: Nice.
Vida: I hate pink.
Xander: You can go to the complaints department later, Vida. Look.
Madison: I hope everyday isn't going to be like this.
Chip: She said we'd know when to use our wands. I think this is the time!
Vida: Ya think?!
Xander: Let's ranger up!
All: Magical Source, Mystic Force!
Xander: Strong as a tree! Green Mystic Ranger!
Vida: Everchanging as the wind! Pink Mystic Ranger!
Madison: Fluid as the sea! Blue Mystic Ranger!
Chip: Fast as lightning! Yellow Mystic Ranger!
Xander: Let's go!
Chip: Let's do it!
Madison: Yeah!
Vida: Oh yeah!
All: Mystic Force!
Chip: You want more?
Xander: Let's see what I can do with this! MagiStaff! Ha!
Xander: MagiStaff, Axe Mode!
Xander: Take this!
Madison: Bad boys! You forgot your water-wings! Ha!
Madison is standing on top of some water, and there are Hidiacs surrounding her, in the water. She uses her staff to create explosions in the water, and sends one Hidiac flying away.
Vida: Pink is not my favorite color. But trust me: its not gonna be yours, either! Wing Power!
Vida raises her staff to the sky, and large, flimsy pink wings appear on her back. She stands still, and the wings beat furiously, sending the Hidiacs flying.
Chip: Let's give them a little MagiStaff jolt and enlighten them! Crossbow mode!
Chip lowers his transformed staff, and takes aim at the Hidiacs. The entire group explodes. All the Rangers regroup, and they are congratulating each other and celebrating. They stop as the sky suddenly turns dark.
Xander: Or maybe not.
Koragg: I'm back.
Xander: Its Koragg!
Chip: Right!
Madison: Ugh.
Vida: We can take him!
Koragg: You can try, but you are no match. I call on my sword from the darkness! This is your end.
Xander: Okay. Now what?
Koragg: Now you will feel the power of dark magic!
Koragg's shield opens, revealing an eye. Scene-change to Nick, who is driving his motorcycle along a mountain road. We go beneath the helmet to look into his eyes. Instead of watching the road like a good little driver, Nick is seeing a vision of Koragg attacking the Rangers.
Nick: Oh no…
Udonna's Voice: You are the one to lead the Rangers.
Koragg: I will not be merciful this time.
Xander: Can't we talk this over?
Xander: Guess not.
Koragg: You're doomed. Any last words?
Nick: Yea! Just one!
Nick's motorcycle flies over a bump, launching Nick into the air. Nick jumps off, hitting Koragg with a flying kick, right in the center of his shield. We wonder where the bike has gone to…
Nick: Come on!
Rangers: Whoa!
Koragg: Now there are five…
Nick: I guess there are.
Nick: This is as good a time as ever to start believing in magic.
Nick: I do believe in magic!
Udonna: Yes. he finally believes.
Clare dances in happiness. Red firefly lights surround Nick, transforming his clothes into the wizard ones. Nick smirks knowingly, and his phone appears in his hand as he tosses off his cloak. Where do all of these cloaks go? Z-space?
Nick: Magical Source, Mystic Force!
Xander: Red Ranger!
Vida: Get 'em, Nick!
Madison: He believes!
Chip: Way to go!
Nick: Fearsome as fire! Red Mystic Ranger!
Koragg: Prove to me your worthiness; battle my forces. Hidiacs, arise!
Nick: You fight with words? So be it. MagiStaff, do your thing!
Nick: Nice! Who doesn't love soccer? Let's have some kicks!
Nick: MagiStaff, Sword Mode!
Nick: Yikes!
Nick: That all you got?
Nick: Power of the Phoenix!
Nick: That's hot. Ha! I guess it works after all.
Chip: Nick, that was awesome!
Nick: Mystic Force?
All: Mystic Force!
Koragg: Do not celebrate, Rangers. This was just one battle. Next time, the outcome will be different.
Scene-change! Toby is again trying to puzzle out the mystery of the teleporting tree. Once again, all he gets to show for it is a bump on the head. Inside the Rock Porium, the teens are trying to clean up from the earthquake earlier that day. Xander walks past Nick, who is reading a magazine, carrying a box.
Xander: Nick, now that we're a team, do you feel like helping?
Nick: I fight soulless mutants. I don't clean.
Vida: Then out of the way, bucko.
Nick: Okay… but as a wise old woman once asked: do you believe in magic?
Vida: You think?
Madison: Well… I believe.
Madison: Cool!
Chip: It works! Sweep like lightning!
Xander: Hmm…easy does it!
Xander: Sorry, Chip!
Nick: Hurry! Someone's coming!
Madison: Wait!
Toby: Okay I knew you wouldn't–ah…oh. You would. It's clean. Very clean. Its the cleanest its ever been. Maybe it's… its lost its edge! Have I become a megashop?!
Girl: Hello? I'm new in town… can somebody help me?
Xander: That'll be me.
Chip: No, no, me!
Girl: Hm… I… want… him!
Nick: Sorry, I don't work here.
Madison: You know, Toby, you really gotta hire this guy, because he was–um–instrumental in cleaning the store.
Nick: Wait! I wasn't looking for a job.
Toby: Who's the greatest guitarist ever?
Nick: Well, its–its gotta be Jimi, but–
Toby: You're hired!
Nick: …Okay…
Toby: Now help the customer.
Leelee: My name's LeeLee Pimvare. And yours?
Nick: I'm in trouble.
