Jenji was originally a member of a cat species in a well-off land, and was very popular among his people. The king of the land, Rexigen, was jealous of Jenji's status, and had a witch enspell the entire land. All the people were tricked into believing Jenji was evil, and the cat was quickly banished from his home. Shortly thereafter, Jenji was found by Daggeron, inside a treasure room of sorts. Before Daggeron could stop him, Jenji opened up a box that turned out to be a trap, forcing the cat to vanish into nothingness. In order to save him, Daggeron was forced to turn Jenji into a genie and put him permanently inside a magic lamp. Jenji can leave the lamp only for short periods at a time. (more than two hours, though how much more is unclear) It seems, however, that Jenji may eventually grow powerful enough to be able to get rid of this time limit.
After becoming a genie, Jenji served alongside Daggeron, as his travel companion and weapon. Thanks to the battle between Daggeron and Calindor though, Jenji has been trapped with the two inside a mystiscally sealed cave for the past nineteen years. The Rangers found and retrieved his lamp, allowing Necrolai to run off with the remains of Imperious, and allowing the cursed Daggeron to escape the cave as well. Upon arriving at Rootcore, Nick blew the dust off the lamp, and Jenji revealed himself. The cat genie was obviously on their side, though his sense of humor and elaborate stories could sometimes rankle the Rangers. When Daggeron finally returned, Jenji rejoined him as his battle companion, allowing Daggeron the use of his lamp as a personal weapon once again.
Jenji now spends his time at Rootcore, going into battle or on trips with Daggeron when needed. Jenji seems to help Clare with the caring of the Fire Heart, although he had no qualms about making the dragon into an omelette and eating it, back when it was still an egg, and occasionally still feels bursts of inadequacy when the other Rangers give more attention to the dragon than to him. This later feeling resulted in him running away from home, losing Fire Heart in the process, and almost running his two hour time limit down to his nonexistance, but an unexpected visit from Piggy and a heartfelt apology from Madison helped him realize who his new family really is.
Jenji obviously has the ability to grant wishes, though that hasn't done the Rangers much individual good so far. In normal-size battles, Jenji can make use of his claws and natural agility to fight in a rather wild style, finishing his opponents off with a hard-hitting attack he calls the Super Cat Attack. Jenji can also grow to a height that puts the other heroes to shame, matching Imperious in size and dwarfing the Rangers to the point where the entire Titan Megazord could fit in his hands.
Jenji's magical lamp can turn into the Laser Lamp, a useful blaster that can fire homing lasers, by pulling down the handle and extending a barrel from its front. In addition to the homing lasers, the lamp is capable of a finishing attack called Jenji Shining Attack where Daggeron fires Jenji out of the lamp, and Jenji proceeds to punch the enemy into oblivion. Madison has used this attack with Jenji as well.
Jenji did, at one point, actually pilot the Solar Streak Megazord, with Daggeron shoveling coal into the firebox behind him.
