In the not so distant future, humans and aliens co-exist peacefully on Earth. Earth has become a safe haven for many species from across the galaxy. A majority of the new residents and visitors are friendly. But for the small percentage that are not, a new organization stands to protect the world from these intergalactic criminals. They are S.P.D.: Space Patrol Delta.
It is the year 2025. The intergalactic terror, Emperor Gruumm, has set his sights on Earth as his next conquest. When S.P.D.’s first line of defense, the A-Squad Power Rangers, fall into a trap set by Gruumm, Commander Anubis “Doggie” Cruger has no choice but to rely on his “B-Squad”, a team of misfit S.P.D. cadets. Mixing together a team of three wildly different S.P.D. cadets and two reformed street thieves, Commander Cruger must now lead these five young adults and their allies in an all out battle to save Earth from Emperor Gruumm and his evil Troobian Army.
Note: The following links may contain spoilers as they give information up to the last aired episode of the season. This is especially the case with character profiles.

The following episodes are listed in the order they best fit continuity-wise. This is generally close, if not identical, to production order, but it may not always match that or airing order, especially with the older seasons. P# is Production Number, the order in which the episodes were filmed/produced. A# is Airing Number, the order in which the episodes actually aired. For in-show timeline, a. = after, b. = between, and p. = prior to (before).
The episode links lead to pages with full transcripts and screenshots, so expect spoilers if you haven't seen every episode below.
Note: Wormhole actually best fits chronologically during Badge, after the Rangers' final debriefing, but before Mora encounters Omni.

-
This season has the highest number of Rangers on one team to date, with 14 different Rangers appearing in at least one episode- the 5 A-Squad Rangers, 5 B-Squad Rangers, Omega, Shadow, Kat, and Nova. The Orange Ranger could count as a 15th, but he was only imaginary.
In the opening credits, Syd is the only Ranger called by her full name, Sydney. Sky, Z, Doggie and Kat are all referred to by their nicknames.
S.P.D. is the only season in which the Red Ranger is flat-out stated to be the team leader and this fact is widely-known; in fact, it's mentioned in
Confronted that the other Rangers and citizens alike must obey his orders without question. Typically the Red Ranger simply assumes the leadership role out of tradition (with the exceptions of
Tommy the White Ranger in Mighty Morphin
season 2 and
3,
Delphine the White Alien Ranger in the
Alien Rangers arc, and
Jen the Pink Ranger in
Time Force).
This season is the first (and so far, only) in which the female Rangers do not have skirts on their Ranger suits in both Japan and America. In previous seasons, some female Yellow Rangers lacked a skirt due to their being male in the Sentai series.
